How To Stay Positive Even When Things Go Wrong

There will always be times when it feels as if things are just not working out as you planned. This can happen in every aspect of your life – Hence the phrase ‘it is all a part of life's rich tapestry'

However, when things are not going well for your business… at such times it is very easy to feel defeated or even to want to give up – to quit.

So what can you do to stay on top of things?

Sometimes we need to get motivation and inspiration from elsewhere.  For some that might be listening to a motivational audio, for others it might mean turning to someone or something they love and respect.

I personally love this poem:

When_things_go_wrong

Within those words it a source of strength and a reminder that, when things go wrong it can be all to easy to lose perspective and to focus on the problem.  When actually, no matter how bad it may seem, there is always hope.  There will always be a tomorrow.

And most of all… you Must Never Quit!

As someone wise once said “Never make a permanent decision based on temporary circumstances”.

It is up to you to be able to isolate that setback and its effects and to treat it as just a bad event that does not affect every aspect of your business or your life.

The main thing to remember

on_particularlyThings go wrong for everyone at times! Every successful person out there, who has ever achieved success with anything, has had things go wrong.

What distinguishes them from others is the knowledge that it is YOU and only you who determines what happens after a setback. Are you going to be the type of person with a pessimistic view – who sees any little setback as something which will effect your entire business?

Or are you instead going to be the optimist who sees any setback as the temporary thing that it actually is.

Steps you can take to ensure that you keep going

Remind yourself why you started in the first place.
Remember the alternative. What will happen if you quit now and get back to the path on which you were on before you started your home business?
Sometimes just this simple exercise will be enough on its own to get you back on track!

As Kahlil Gibran said:

‘Your living is determined not so much by what life brings to you as by the attitude you bring to life; Not so much by what happens to you as by the way your mind looks at what happens'

It is very important to never view any setback or problem as personal. Learning to detach yourself from any business setbacks is a skill that is essential to achieving success and your dreams.

Why?

Because there WILL be setbacks along your path to success…

YOU need to be strong enough to get past them. To move on.

I've found some quotes which have helped me in the past.

I share them here today as inspiration for you

“Success is failure turned inside out, the silver tint of the clouds of doubt, and you can never tell how close you are, it may be near when it seems so far; so stick to the fight when you're hardest hit, Its' when things seem worst, that you must not quit. You are all you can be. Go on and be it!”

“What seems to us as bitter trials are often blessings in disguise.” —Oscar Wilde
(some of the worst things to happen in my life ended up being exactly what was needed to help me see things more clearly or in a more powerful way)

“Nothing in the world is more common than unsuccessful people with talent.” —Anonymous
(and likewise there are plenty of successful people who have created their own success from nothing)

“Success requires no explanations, failure permits no alibis.” – Napoleon Hill

“Don't let the mistakes and disappointments of the past control and direct your future.” – Zig Ziglar
